Find out all about past and present parties here ! |
Our most recent party at Abbey barns on 29th August was a complete success. All that came and joined us on the day said they had a brilliant time and really enjoyed our food and the dog show. We were happier still that people who came dug deep into their pockets and supported our efforts to raise monies for both Ollie's Fund for Canine Epilepsy and Doglost Between the two charities, we raised over £500, more than we ever imagined would be possible given the financial climate we are all trying to get through. I would like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who came along and helped support the day. We can only ever make it what it is with your continued support, and for that we are eternally grateful, as i'm sure are the 2 charities we supported this year. I would also like to say the biggest Thanks to my fabulous friends, Sarah for her continued help in organising and cooking some for the food for the day, Catherine and Nichole for help setting up, and Tracy for donating such lovely rosettes. We are all already looking forward to the next party, so watch this space for dates ! *****************************************************************
On the 15th December 2007 we had our wonderful 1st event which we opened up for mostly Montecani friends and family as a way of us getting together. We had over 50 people and 50 dogs at a wonderfull scenic setting at the old Abbey and Abbey Barn. This beautiful setting allowed us to let both dogs and children (and any adults up to it !) run free in the acre of grounds. Everyone enjoyed their turn in the 'ring', and all took part in good spirits, many taking home their rosettes as winners of the day. We even had lots of 'junior handlers' getting themselves in shape in readiness for the real show scene in a few years time ! We handed out prizes to all of the show winners, as well as winners rosettes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. All dogs attending went home with a golden 'Santa' goody bag full of chew treats, a ball, a whistle, training treats and a flashing Burns LED 'B-Seen' light for their collar. We must say here a HUGE Thank YOU to both Heather Johnson for being a truly brilliant judge for our show, and to Sandra Shelley for providing us with the rosettes which we 'doctored' to make our very own. Thanks ladies ! Due to the success of the party in 2007 we decided to raise much needed funding for research into canine epilepsy at the AHT and therefore felt to do this we would open up the 'invite' list and extended it to over double our last capacity - Our summer party in June 2008 was a resounding success, and proved one to beat, the atmosphere was fantastic and everyone enjoyed their day in the sunshine !
Our Xmas party 2008 was sadly battered by rain and wind, but troopers to the last, most people turned up and eventually a gap in the winter sky allowed us to have our 'speedy' dog show under our judge for the day Max Munday. Thank You Max for braving the weather for Ollie for the 2nd time running ! We're all looking forward to the party planned for 29th August 2009 now, where this year we have been allowed to camp overnight in the beautiful grounds of the Abbey making it whole weekend experience ! Those camping will have a BBQ in the evening on Saturday and a brunch BBQ on the Sunday morning Let's hope the weather is kind to us all !
